Announcements: I gave out calendars last week if you didn’t get one ask me and all make sure you do. This week we are focusing on things that grow and because I love St. Patricks Day we will also do some Irish songs as well.
Mark Your Calendars for May 10th—Music Train Preschool is going to be in the Health Days Parade at 10:00 am. We will have all of the kids in the back of our pick-up truck and we will be singing, waving, smiling, and throwing candy. I would love for two or three parents who would be willing to walk along side of us and hand out flyers and help keep an eye out for the children. It’s a fun parade and not too long. Please let me know if you can attend the parade so I know how many children and parents to count on.
Home Challenge: Count everything this week. How many plates are on the table? How many forks are in our drawer? How many carrots do you want for lunch? How many red cars can we count on the way to the store? We have learned all the numbers from 1-40 and this week we are working on numbers 40-50. Identifying a number is much different then counting how many you have of something. One of my favorite toys to play with my kids is the abacus. It’s basically a bead counter or a manual calculator. We use it all the time to help with math and to help us count how many time they practice a spot in music lessons. It may be a great investment to buy one. Here is an example of one click on it for details on prices.
